The North Muskoka monthly real estate report for May 2017 continued to see a higher than average number of waterfront units sold in the District of Muskoka for the period January 1 – May 31.  In the District of Muskoka (all types of waterfront) we saw a 23.9% increase in the number of units sold over the previous year, while the average sale price decreased from $642,507 in 2016  to $612,647 in 2017. The Huntsville Lakes (Fairy, Peninsula and Vernon) stayed in step with previous year number of units sold. Lake of Bays saw a 64% increase in the number of units sold with 23 units sold in 2017 YTD versus 14 units in 2016.  The average sale price in the period January 1 – May 31, was $685,071 in 2016 while the same time period in 2017 saw the average sale price increase to $705,696.
