Waterfront Market Update – June 2021

June saw waterfront sales activity moderate as the buying frenzy for cottages and waterfront properties seen in the first quarter of 2021 softened. Buyer fatigue, diminishing urgency for space with the gradual reopening of the economy as vaccination numbers increase, and prices that have reached unseen levels making even those with healthy budgets pause. Although activity has levelled from the panicked frenzy seen earlier in the year, inventory levels remain low and the waterfront market remains strong with prices steady. Waterfront sales were 6% above the five-year average and 15.8% above the 10-year average for the month of June.
